Bill Murphy

Bill Murphy completed a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of NSW in 1973. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a registered tax agent and a company auditor. Bill provides more than just traditional accounting services; he would like his clients to receive a total financial solution. With many years’ experience across a broad range of businesses and audits, Bill is very ably supported by a number of enthusiastic accountants and staff. Bill is secretary of Cowra Rotary and President Elect and spends his spare time in the garden or reading.

David Symons


David has been with Steel Walsh & Murphy since 2011. He has completed a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) with Charles Sturt University and is currently studying to become a Chartered Accountant through Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand. David’s areas of expertise within the firm is very broad including individual tax returns, GST reporting and business financial statements and tax returns; his main area of work is completing end of year reporting for Self-Managed Super Funds.

Victor Parakkal


Victor is one of Steel Walsh & Murphy’s newest recruits. He and his family relocated to Cowra. Victor is originally from India, where he worked in financial roles for over 10 years. He has studied further in Australia and continues to learn. Victor provides bookkeeping support for our accountants. He and his family take an active role in the St Raphaels school and church communities. His enjoys cricket and reading.

Fiona Ferson


Fiona Ferson is the first friendly face you see when you visit Steel Walsh & Murphy. As our main receptionist, Fiona brings with her a huge amount of experience in customer relations, having worked for many years at Cowra’s NRMA office. Fiona loves to garden, her cat and spending time with friends and family.

Cheryl Downing

Office Duties / Receptionist

Cheryl Downing carries out the back up Receptionist role. Her duties are wide and varied from record keeping and general office duties to being the lady who buys the biscuits. Cheryl has worked in customer service for many years and enjoys meeting new people. Away from Steel Walsh & Murphy Cheryl enjoys reading, craft and spending time with family and friends.

Richmond Bush

Trainee Accountant

Richmond is a Trainee Accountant with SWM having just completed his HSC at St Raphael’s in Cowra. He is undertaking a Bachelor of Accounting at CSU by distance alongside his training with SWM. Out of the office, Richmond’s interests involve reading and cooking.
